At a meeting between representatives of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna and representatives of the city hall and local businessmen from the village of Bozveliysko (Municipality of Provadiya, Varna District) was officially launched the project for construction of a gasilhane (a place where the deceased are washed and prepared for burial) in Bozveliysko.
The meeting was attended by the Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri and the specialist from Waqf Department at the mufti’s office in Varna lawer Sezay Cholakov, the newly elected mayor of the village Ivan Paraskevov and representatives of the local business. The project was discussed also with the chief architect of the Municipality of Provadia from where they expressed readiness to assist for the preparation of all necessary documentation for the construction of the mobile site in a shortest time.
“The idea to construct a gasilhane (a place where the deceased are washed and prepared for burial) belongs to the local Muslim population. The initial idea was the building, which will be located in the yard of the ruined mosque in the village, to be permanent, but since it is much more time consuming, we chose the option for temporary mobile construction “sandwich panel” type” – the Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri commented for Grandmufti.bg.
According to him this project at the initiative of the local Muslims is launched with the hope to lead to another step, and namely – restoration also of the destroyed at the moment mosque in Bozveliysko.
“The people from the Muslim community at a local level are proactive and willing, we hope that with the time we will also reach to the restoration of the mosque itself, to make it functioning and to provide the possibility to send to it preachers from the Muslim Denomination.” – the Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri expressed his hope.
