Competition in artistic recitation of adhan for students was held in Shumen

The management of Religious School “Nyuvvab” in the city of Shumen held a competition in artistic recitation of adhan (call to prayer) for the students. It took place on January 28 (Tuesday) this year, after the Asr prayer in the mosque “Sherif Halil pasha” in the city. 10 students in total, from 9 to 12 grade, participated in the competition.

The skills of the participants for beautiful recitation of the Muslim call to prayer (adhan) were evaluated by a 3-member jury, consisting of: Chairman – Metin Yeşildağ – guest-lecturer from the Republic of Turkey in the Training course for imams “Mustafa Chatlak” in Shumen, and members: the teachers from Religious School “Nyuvvab” Dzhelil Dzhelil and Salim Hodzha.

After the tough race between the ten participants the three finalist in the competition for artistic recitation of adhan were distinguished. They were Erdzheb Ridvan Ahmet from 12 grade – at first place, Zafer Zaid Sabri from 9^a grade – at second place, and Alper Rushen Lyutvi from 10 grade – at third place.

The finalists received special awards officially presented to them by their teachers in the religious school. On behalf of the local mufti’s office, the Regional Mufti of Shumen Mesut Mehmedov gave awards also to all participants in the competition and the organizers wished them many future successes in their education.
