The Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun Birali had an official visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Kingdom of Jordan. The visit took place on January 28 (Tuesday) this year and was part of the series of meetings and initiatives in the framework of the visit of the two muftis to Jordan, accompanied by a group of lecturers and students from the Higher Islamic Institute (HII).
The delegation from Grand Mufti’s Office in the Republic of Bulgaria was welcomed in the Bulgarian Embassy in the Kingdom by His Excellency Ambassador Dimitar Mihaylov. During the meeting the two parties discussed the opportunities which the Kingdom of Jordan offers as a place for studying Arabic as a foreign language. They agreed on the opinion that Jordan is one of the few Arab countries in the world that offer at the same time peace and safety and at the same time the teachers and the teaching methodologies in the fields of the Islamic studies are related to moderation and professionalism. This contributes to the better understanding of the Islamic studies and gives an opportunity for training quality personnel in Islamic theology.
During their conversation with His Excellency Ambassador Mihaylov the muftis from Bulgaria also addressed the topic about the place of the HII and strengthening it as a place for preparation of theologians who are extremely necessary in Bulgaria in order local specialist can teach theological sciences on a sufficiently high level. “This would be of benefit not only for the students, but also of the entire society in terms of enrichment of the religious knowledge.” – concluded during the meeting the representatives of Grand Mufti’s Office in Bulgaria.
One of the focuses of the meeting was related to the accreditation of the HII and one of the important conditions for this – the educational institution to have its own building. His Excellency Dimitar Mihaylov in his turn expressed his willingness to assist and help according to his abilities from the position of a diplomatic representative of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Kingdom of Jordan.
