The management of the mufti’s office in Varna held a working meeting with the newly elected mayor of the Municipality of Provadia Eng. Zhoro Ilchev

One of the series of working meetings, initiated by the management of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna, with municipal mayors in the region, was with the newly elected mayor of the Municipality of Provadia DScTech. Eng. Zhoro Ilchev. It was held on January 30 (Thursday) this year, and on behalf of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna participated the Regional Mufti Nuray Shukri, the expert from “Waqf” Department lawyer Sezay Cholakov, the Secretary Fahredin Mollamehmed, as well as the new deputy mufti in Provadia Oktay Hashim and the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Trustees – Provadia Muhammedin Sufiyan.

During the meeting were discussed the problems of the Muslim population in the Municipality of Provadia as well as the securing the local mosque “Sara Hyusein” and the beginning of construction and repair works with the restoration of the Muslim temple. There have already been submitted projects for them to the relevant responsible institutions.

The Mayor Eng. Zhoro Ilchev was informed about the upcoming implementation of the project for restoration of the sound system for of adhan (call to prayer) at the mosque of the town of Provadia. The host in his turn expressed his willingness to assist in all administrative matters for solving the relevant issues, undertaken by Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna.

Before leaving the Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri presented as a gift to the Mayor of Provadia Eng. Zhoro Ilchev the latest edition of the Holy Qur’an, translated by Prof. Tsvetan Teofanov. As a sign of respect and an expression of inter-faith understanding and well-being the host from the Municipality of Provadia put the gift on a visible place in his office, next to the edition of the Bible.
