For a first time in its history Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna will have a deputy mufti in the town of Provadia

For a first time in its history Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna will have from this year officially a deputy mufti with a region of activities the town of Provadia. The name of the newly appointed deputy mufti is Oktay Hashim. He officially took office on January 21, 2020 and will be responsible for the municipalities of Provadia, Dalgopol and Vetrino.

Oktay Hashim completed his higher education in the Higher Islamic Institute (HII) in the city of Sofia. During the period 2002 – 2008 he was imam in the town of Targovishte, and during the period 2008 – 2015 he was working as imam-vaiz (imam and preacher) at Regional Mufti’s Office – Razgrad.

Furthermore, from this year in the mosque “Sara Hyusein” in the town of Provadia will work also the newly appointed imam Ekrem Gül, who is long-term secondedto our country for five years from the “Diyanet” Directorate of the Republic of Turkey.

“By undertaking these significant changes there are foreseen also many new initiatives such as organization of Ramadan religious talks and other events as part of the religious life of the local Muslim community in the Municipality of Provadia.” – commented on the topic about taking the office of the first deputy mufti at Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna from its management.
