The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had his first visit to Grand Mufti’s Office
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu had an official visit to Grand Mufti’s Office. During his first visit to the Muslim Denomination in the capital which was held on January 31 (Friday), 2020, he was with the accompanying him delegation led by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Bulgaria Her Excellency Aylin Sekizkök.
Çavuşoğlu was welcomed at 27 Bratya Miladinovi Str. by the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and he had the opportunity to meet with the representatives of the entire management of the Muslim Denomination, including the regional muftis of all 20 regional mufti’s offices in our country.
The visit of Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Grand Mufti’s Office was as an expression of good will and respect to the Muslim Denomination in Bulgaria.
Before parting, after the end of the held official meeting, the host Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi sent his high-ranking guest with a gift – a painting of the famous Bulgarian painter Zlatyu Boyadzhiev and the two-volume book edition on the history of the Muslim Denomination by Dr. Ismail Dzhambazov. The guest also had prepared for his host and for all regional muftis symbolic gifts.
The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey to the Muslim Denomination in our country was part of his official visit to Bulgaria – the first official visit to Bulgaria of a Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2014. In the framework of his visit to Sofia Minister Çavuşoğlu held a number of official meetings, including with the President Rumen Radev, the Prime Minster Boyko Borisov, the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Chairperson of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva and others.
