The Muslim community in Varna supported a child diagnosed with cancer on the World Cancer Day
Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri and the mother of the child in UMPHAT “St. Marina” – Varna
Through the local regional mufti’s office, the Muslim community in the city of Varna raised funds to support a 14-year-old child diagnosed with cancer. The campaign was implemented in the central mosque of Varna “Aziziye” during the Friday prayer on January 31 this year. As a result of the initiative was raised the amount of 610 BGN which the Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri personally gave the mother of the sick child Nevim Hasimova on February 4 (Tuesday) – accidental or not, but exactly on the day when the World Cancer Day is marked.
The 14-year-old Nilyay Hasan Sabri is from the village of Bliznatshi, Shumen region. She suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and currently is receiving chemotherapy treatment in UMPHAT “St. Marina” in the city of Varna. Since she has been diagnosed with cancer both parents of Nilyay do not work because they have to care for her. There is foreseen even more serious treatment for the child which most probably will be done abroad, and this will also require financial funds. We hope then with a larger campaign to manage all to help Nilyay Sabri!
