Muslim Denomination was presented at the International Congress of the Association of the Muslim Communities in Ankara
The renowned NGO Center for Political Economic Research (ASEM), which is established 50 years ago in Ankara, held its traditional International Congress of the Association of the Muslim Communities. It took place on December 14 – 15, 2019, and this was the 28th edition of the Congress.
At the invitation of the organizers ASEM, which is headed by Recai Kutan, one of the closest allies of the late Muslim leader prof. Necmettin Erbakan, at the international forum in the Turkish capital Ankara participated more than 120 people from 63 countries. They represented different Muslim communities from the Muslim world from Indonesia to Morocco but there were also participants from America and Europe. Among them there were prominent Muslim scholars, former and present high-ranking statesmen, representatives of political formations, NGOs and others.
At the event, which this year took place under the title “Peace, Justice and Mercy for a New World”, the Muslim community in Bulgaria was presented by the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat S. Ahmed. After the protocol speeches and the lecture of Prof. Mehmet Görmez, who is a former president of the “Diyanet” of Turkey and present Chairman of the Center for Islamic Thought, a panel was held in which Ahmed also participated.
In his speech he emphasized the need to renew people’s thinking in order to have a new world, and focused on peace, justice and mercy in individual and family plan, in order to enlarge their circle in social and world scale. During the opening of the international forum and during its different sessions the question about the difficult situation and the problems of the multi-million Uyghur Muslim community in China was raised. A call to the Muslim communities around the world was made to put on their agenda the solidarity and the mutual help for the deprived Uyghurs. In support of this call, the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council said that the Muslims in Bulgaria understand very well the problems of their blood Uyghur brothers, because till 30 years ago they themselves suffered trials, similar to the methods of assimilation and cleansing, used by the Chinese communist totalitarian and atheist regime. In the international forum was made a call to the Muslims to treat with peace, justice and mercy all people regardless of their religion, ethnicity, language or social status. And also to make efforts to stop the oppression of the oppressors from all over the world.
