Grand Masterof the Order of Malta visited Grand Mufti’s office during his visit to Bulgaria
The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi hosted an official meeting with the Grand Masterof the Order of Malta His Most Eminent Highness Fra' Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto – Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta. He visited Grand Mufti’s Office on December 12 (Thursday), 2019 in the framework of his two-day visit to the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta is a chivalric religious order of the Roman Catholic Church and is among of the eldest ones, established about 900 years ago. It has diplomatic relations with more than 100 countries. It develops charity, social and humanitarian activity throughout the world. In Bulgaria the Order of Malta has organized more than 400 initiatives in nearly 180 settlements, supporting hospitals, schools, socially disadvantaged people.
The members of the Order of Malta are on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the President Rumen Radev, and the occasion is the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the Order of Malta.
On behalf of the guests during the meeting at Grand Mufti’s Office participated the members of the Board, the Grand Chancellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Order H.E. Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs & International Cooperation and a Grand Hospitaller, H.E. Dominique Prince de La Rochefoucauld-Montbel, who is also Bailiff Grand Cross of Honour and Devotion in Obedience, as well as other members of the management of the Order.
The delegation was accompanied by Bogdan Patashev, Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Order of Malta.
On behalf of the hosts in the meeting participated the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed, the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun, the Secretary General of Grand Mufti’s Office Dzhelal Faik and representatives of the team of the international department of the Denomination.
The Grand Master of the Order of Malta gave the Grand Mufti an order of the Hospitallers for desk, and the host Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi presented to his guest as a gift a brass rose which is one of the symbols of Islam, peace and love.
