20 girls from the region of Shumen participated in a religious and educational workshop of Grand Mufti’s Office

A religious and educational workshop, organized by Grand Mufti’s Office and held in the city of Shumen within the period of November 22 – 24 this year brought together 20 participants from Shumen region. Among them were students and girls at the age up to 25 years old.

The workshop took place under the direct responsibility of Nazmie Kulova – expert from the Department on Education of Grand Mufti’s Office. Speakers in it were Meriem Ahmedchikova and Bahrie Ahmedova, and guest-speakers in the two-day event were the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov and the Mufti of Targovishte Nazif Rasimov.

The workshop was officially opened from the Regional Mufti of Shumen Mesut Mehmedov.

The lectures in the workshop program were in Turkish language and covered various topics. Among them were “Islamic ethics and choosing a husband”, “Being youth nowadays”, “The personality of the Muslim”, “Challenges in front of today’s youth”, ‘Our Muslim identity”, “Problems for the youth today and possibilities for solving them”, “Benefit of science and its application in life”.

In the program was also foreseen entertaining part which included a block for discussions and religious songs (ilyahi) accompanied by with the traditional percussion instrument daf.

The held workshop for girls from the Muslim community was the another one, organized by Grand Mufti’s Office. It is foreseen to be held a second edition of the workshop in Shumen aimed at young men and student boys.
