Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv welcomed for a visit MPs from the Republic of Turkey
A delegation from the Parliament o the Republic of Turkey visited Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv on November 21 (Thursday), 2019. The highly-ranking guests from the Turkish Majlis (Parliament) were accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv Hüseyin Ergani. The delegation visited the central mosque in Plovdiv “Murad Hyudavendigyar”, after which was welcomed for a meeting in the premises of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv.
The host Taner Veli presented to the guests the activities of Regional Mufti’s Office, its work during the different campaigns of the Muslim Denomination and especially the activities during the sacred for the Muslims month of Ramadan. During the meeting were discussed issues related to the waqf property on the territory of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv. The Consul Hüseyin Ergani and the Mufti Taner Veli had the opportunity to present to the guests also the history of the great mosque “Murad Hydavendigyar”, known also as “Dzhumaya mosque” in Plovdiv.
After the end of the meeting in Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv the guests from the Turkish Parliament had the opportunity to walk around the Old town of Plovdiv and to learn about its history.
Before their visit to the city under the hills the parliamentary delegation from the Majlis of Turkey was in Sofia on the occasion of its participation in the 54 Plenary Session of the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly for the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC). In the two-day summit participated delegations from the parliaments of the 12 member states of the organization. During their stay in the capital the guests form the Republic of Turkey visited also Grand Mufti’s Office where they were welcomed by Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.
