Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi met with imams from Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan

The Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi was an official guest of the regular meeting with the imams, which Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan held on November 5, 2019. During the working meeting were discussed current topics such as the institutional culture of the Muslim Denomination, personal and professional development of the staff, professional work and activities. The imams expressed ideas and proposals on all of them.

The Regional Mufti of Smolyan and host of the meeting Nedzhmi Dabov explained the three aspects on which the institutional culture of the Muslim Denomination is build, namely the knowledge and application of the legislation, respecting the hierarchy, set in the Statute of the Denomination, and adherence to the principles of the institutional culture, such as responsibility, team work, discipline and loyalty to the institution. Without any of the three aspects the institutional culture could not be achieved. He cited the words of one of the Muslim enlighteners of the last century, that the Islamic scholars are the heart of the Muslim community, and added that exactly the healthy rhythm of the heartbeat is the adherence to the institutional culture. The Regional Mufti called for striving towards personal and professional development of the imams in the framework of their institutional responsibility and activity, and special workshops for retraining were discussed.

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadhzi said that he is pleasantly surprised by the ideas and the topics which are discussed at the meeting, and said that we should always be together, to be a good example for the society.

“It is necessary everyone to take a stock of himself, what he has done for the development of the Muslim community and institution. To think more globally and not only about the situation around us. The imams need to take a next step in their development by being more responsible and devoted. To work for the preservation of the identity of the Muslims by establishing relationships with people and better communication with them.” – Dr. Hadzhi said in his address to the participation imams from Smolyan region.

The Grand Mufti concluded that the unity of the Muslim community in the Republic of Bulgaria is the strongest indicator of the successful adherence to the institutional culture of every one who is working in the Muslim Denomination.
