Dozens of imams from the entire country participated in the national Scientific Panel “The Active Imam” 2019

For another year the initiative “The Active Imam” of Grand Mufti’s Office which this year was held as a Scientific Panel, brought together in Haskovo dozens of imams from all twenty regional mufti’s offices in the country. The event took place on October 23 (Wednesday) this year with the kind hospitality of Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo.

The scientific panel was officially opened with a recitation of a part of the Holy Qur’an from hafiz Bayram Ushev – Deputy Mufti of Zlatograd. Then the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi welcomed all participants.

“The idea for “The Active Imam” was born in the recent past. Who are the active imams and who are not? On the one hand, it is not easy to give a definition of this. On the other hand, it is extremely important to try all imams to be active. That is why these people, who are here, have to be the locomotive that pulls the society forward. In order to be active the imam should have motivation. It is both internal and external. The internal one is the most powerful motivation. But it cannot be found in every person. And if the internal motivation is strong then it will make the person to be active in the society.” – said in his address to the participants in the scientific panel the spiritual leader of the Muslims in Bulgaria.

He focused on that the present forum provides an excellent opportunity for the imams from the entire country to sit together, to get to know each other and to share expertise. Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi made a dua (supplication) to Allah to accept the participation of everyone as an act of worship and asked Allah to be pleased with the organizers of this year’s edition of the “Active Imam”.

The program of the forum this year was thematically related with the importance of the khutbah (sermon) and its impact on the believers. The event was held in three sessions, in each of which were addressed current topics such as “The Technology for Preparing Successful Khutbah”, “The Aims of the Friday Khutbah and the Congregation’s Need of It”, ‘Khutbah, Hatib, Mutahab”. Among the speakers were hafiz Bayram Ushev, Nazif Rasimov – interim Regional Mufti of Targovishte, also Sunay Ramadan – vaiz (preacher) and imam at Regional Mufti’s Office – Aytos. Foreign guest and speaker in the scientific panel was Hidayet Erdoğan – ILAM Director in the Republic of Turkey.

The last session in the “Active Imam” 2019 was dedicated to the basic part of the I^st National Competition in Hitabet.

The one-day program ended with the official awarding of the finalists of the competition for artistic delivering of the Friday khutbah.
