“Week of Imams and Mosques” 2019 was marked with dozens of initiatives in Varna region

The initiative this year of the Muslim Denomination “Week of Imams and Mosques” 2019 was successfully marked also by Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna. The participation in the national initiative was one of the focuses of the held in the middle of October regular monthly meeting with the imams.

“We held a number of events according to a preliminary prepared and approved schedule with an Order, issues by the interim regional mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri” – said for Grandmufti.bg the secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna Fahredin Mollamehmed.

According to him, the major part of the events of the mufti’s office in Varna in the framework of this year’s “Week of Imams and Mosques”, which took place between October 21 and 27, 2019, were aimed at the youth audience. One of the organized events was a meeting – discussion with foreign students in the central mosque “Aziziye” in the center of the maritime capital. They were informed about the history of the mosques in the city of Varna, and the meeting was led by the local public activist, representative of the Muslim community – Mustafa Rifat Kazak. On October 25 (Friday), 2019 were held lectures with religious talks in the three mosques in Varna where the focus was also on the place and the role of the mosque in Muslims’ life.

“Within the “Week of Imams and Mosques” 2019 in almost all settlements in the territorial scope of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna, where there are open mosques and imam, a cleaning of the Muslim temples was organized as well as their preparation for the upcoming winter season.” – further added the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna Fahredin Mollamehmed.
