Grand Mufti’s Office held a two-day workshop for student-girls in Blagoevgrad

A two-day workshop for Muslim women, studying in the South-West University (SWU) in Blagoevgrad was held by Grand Mufti’s office of the Muslim Denomination. It took place on October 25 and 26 (Friday and Saturday), 2019 and was attended by 22 student-girls most of whom pursue their higher education in the South-West University.

The focus of the workshop was the education as a value among the Muslims and was led by Nazmie Kulova – expert at the Department of Education of Grand Mufti’s Office.

The main speakers during the two-day event were Fatme Kyoybashieva – a teacher in the year-round Qur’an course in Ribnovo, and Sabie Medarova, also a teacher in a year-round Qur’an course in the village of Gorno Kraishte.

“Guest-speaker was the Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed who officially opened the workshop, after which he delivered a lecture to the students’ audience. As a speaker also took part Muhammed Ramadan – vaiz (preacher) at Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan with the topic “Obligations of a wife to her husband and their relationships”. “How to up bring our children” was the topic of the lecture, which Muhammed Kamber – imam of the village of Lazhnitsa, delivered during the workshop” – said for Grandmufti.bg the expert from “Irshad” Department Resim Shamatarev.

The program of the workshop was varied with a walk in the center of the town, as well as evening entertaining programs and discussions, held between the participants in the format.

“This is the first workshop for students, which is held in Blagoevgrad. Our idea this year is to hold more workshops for students, which will take place in different places so that we can make it easy for the participants.” – further added Resim Shamatarev. He said that Grand Mufti’s Office of the Muslim Denomination have foreseen to hold a workshop for students – boys also in Blagoevgrad, after 2 – 3 weeks, in November this year, which will be in the same format but the speakers will be men.
