Preliminary round of the first National Competition in Hitabet takes place today in Momchilgrad

 

 

For another year Grand Mufti’s Office will hold the scientific forum “The Active Imam” in the framework of the “Week of Imams and Mosques” 2019. It will be officially opened on October 23 (Wednesday) and this time host of the initiative will be Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo. One of the events included in it is also the first National Competition in Hitabet (Oratory) which will be held in two rounds – a preliminary one – in Momchilgrad today, and a basic, tomorrow in Haskovo.

“In the preliminary round of the competition in Hitabet will take part 21 participants in total from different regional mufti’s offices in Bulgaria. Some of the mufti’s offices have nominated more than one participant while other will not have their own representatives in the competition.” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Head of “Irshad” Department at Grand Mufti’s Office Halil Hodzhov.

According to him the five finalists in the preliminary round today continue their participation in the next round of the competition in Hitabet, which will be held tomorrow after the session with lectures of the scientific forum “The Active Imam” in Haskovo. According to the regulation of the first National Competition in Hitabet, the three finalists of the basic round of the competition will be awarded with cash prizes.

The participants in the competition for powerful delivery of the Friday khutbah (sermon) will be assessed by a jury including: chairperson: Vedat Ahmed (Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council), and members: Birali Birali (Deputy Grand Mufti) and Beyhan Mehmed (Regional Mufti of Kardzhali).

In the assessment of the participants in the competition in Hitabet the jury will take into consideration the diction, the forms of expression, the selection of arguments, the structuring of the text and the communication skills. The persuasiveness and the vision of the competitors will also be considered.
