Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo: We are trying every year our participation in the campaigns of the Muslim Denomination to give better results

Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo held its regular monthly meeting with the imams from the region on October 15 (Tuesday), 2019. During the working meeting, which took place in the premises of the Regional Mufti’s Office, were discussed a number of issues related to the activities of the regional institution. Among them were analysis of the held in the region summer Qur’an courses during the months of July and August, as well as review of the reports of the local imams for their work during the past month.

One of the priority topics on the agenda of the October meeting of Regional Mufti’s Office – Tarnovo was its participation in “Orphans’ Week”.

The participants in the meeting discussed also issues related the “Week of Imams and Mosques” and the upcoming on this occasion forum “The Active Imam” in Momchilgrad, where will be held also a competition in Hitabet (Oratory). Besides the hosts and all imams from the region at the meeting were invited and participated also two candidates for imams from Tarnovo region who are going to attend a training course in the Training School for Imams – Ustina. They were introduced to the team and had the opportunity to get to know with their future colleagues.

“We have prepared a plan-program for our participation in the “Week of Imams and Mosques” and we will join it with various events and initiatives in the bigger mosques in the region. On October 21 in the central mosque of Tarnovo will be held an open day. The program will include reading of mawlid and a religious talk on the importance of the place of the imam and the mosque in the Islamic religion. As the mosque is located near the University of Veliko Tarnovo we hope to arose with this initiative interest in the students” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo Yashar Mehmed.

“Every year we report progress in raising funds in the various campaigns of the Muslim Denomination compared to the previous years. We are trying every year our participation in the campaigns to give better results” – further said Mehmed.
