The mufti’s office in Tarnovo held a religious program at the tomb of Malkoç beyfor a first time
For a first time this year Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo held a religious program dedicated to Malkoç bey, the tomb of whom is located in the village of Burya, Sevlievo region. The celebration which brought together at one place hundreds of guests, took place on September 1 (Sunday) this year.
The religious program was held in the new mosque of the town of Sevlievo. It included recitation of Qur’an-i Kerim and mawlid. The host of the event, the Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo Syuleyman Masurev, introduced all guests to the life of Malkoç baba. Among them was the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Turkey Şeref Malkoç, who is a descendant of Malkoç baba. The event was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in our country Dr. Hasan Ulusoy, as well as by representatives of the Turkish Embassy in Sofia and the Consulate of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv. Among the official guests was also the Mayor of the Municipality of Osmangazi in Bursa Mustafa Dündar.
The religious celebration was also attended by the regional muftis of Haskovo, Kardzhali and Targovishte, respectively Basri Eminefendi, Beyhan Mehmed and Nazif Rasimov.
After the end of the religious program in Sevlievo the guests went to the tomb of Malkoç baba, located at the yard of the mosque in the village of Burya, Sevlievo region. “Fatiha” was read there after which for all local residents and guests from the region, numbering nearly 200 people, lunch was offered.
