Grand Mufti was a guest of the traditional annual iftar-dinner of the Mufti’ office in Plovdiv in front of “Dzhumaya mosque”

 

For another year Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv together with the local Muslim board of trustees organized Ramadan iftar-dinner outdoor at the center of the city under the hills.

This year the iftar took place on May 22 (Wednesday) in front of the central “Dzhumaya mosque” in the city and brought together nearly 200 people. Among the official guests were the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Bulgaria Hussein Ergani and other representatives of the Turkish Embassy in Plovdiv. The event was also attended by representatives of the local authorities as well as by representatives of the main religious denominations in the city of Plovdiv.

The iftar also was accompanied by a Ramadan program which included a welcoming speech on behalf of the host and a Regional Mufti of Plovdiv Taner Veli. A greeting address to all guests was also presented by the official guest Mustafa Hadzhi. The representatives of the different religious denominations had the opportunity to discuss the topic about the fasting in the monotheistic religions.

Especially for all guests of this year’s iftar in front of “Dzhumaya mosque” in Plovdiv the organizers had invited a dervish who performed the traditional dervish dance “Sema”
