The Embassy of Azerbaijan hosted a Ramadan iftar-dinner in a village in Omurtag region

The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bulgaria gave a Ramadan iftar-dinner for hundreds of people on May 17, 2019 in the village of Obitel (Municipality of Omurtag). The iftar was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azarbaijan and took place with the assistance of Regional Mufti’s Office - Targovishte and the Municipality of Omurtag.

The Ramadan dinner brought together more than 400 Muslims from the region. Official guests of the iftar-dinner were Nargiz Gurbanova – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Sofia, the Deputy Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Ahmed Hasanov, the interim Regional Mufti of Targovishte Nazif Rasimov. The event was also attended by MPs, the representatives of the local authorities – the Regional Governor Mitko Staykov, the Mayor of the Municipality of Omurtag Eshref Eshrefov, the Mayor of the Municipality of Targovishte Darin Dimitrov, Slavcho Prodanov – Vicar of Rome in the ecclesiastical area of Targovishte, the parish priest of the “St. Dimitar” Church in Omurtag Krasimir Andonov, as well as many imams from the region and the mayors of the neighboring settlements.
