30^th anniversary of the May events was marked with a commemorative rally in the village of Medovets  

Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna took part in a commemorative rally in the village of Medovets (Municipality of Dalgopol) on May 18 (Saturday), 2019. The event was also attended by the interim Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri, the guest-imam from the Republic of Turkey Bilyal Arslan, as well as the Mayor of the village Bekir Bekir.

The rally was organized on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of the May events during the Revival process as well as to commemorate the two victims from the village – the martyrs Nazife Mustafa and Shakir Shakir. The two Muslims were killed during the peaceful protests against the Revival Process in 1989.

“On this occasion already traditionally is organized a commemorative event in the village of Medovets and also in the memory of the two victims of the Revival Process from the village a sacrificial animal (qurban) is slaughtered”. – shared for Grnadmufti.bg the Secretary of the mufti’s office in Varna Fahredin Mollamehmed.

“Regional Mufti’s Office - Varna took part in the rally and the Regional Mufti Nuray Shukri was officially invited to make a dua (supplication) for the two victims of the Communist regime.” – Mollamehmed further added.

For all guests of the commemorative event on Saturday evening was prepared a Ramadan iftar-dinner.
