Mufti’s Office in Varna began the regular Ramadan religious talks with youths from the region

With the beginning of the Sacred for the Muslims month of Ramadan Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna launched an initiative aimed at the youths from the local Muslim community.

“Within the Ramadan initiative we have formed five groups of 15 – 20 young people at the age between 16 and 25 years old in different settlements on the territory of our mufti’s office.” – shared for Grandmufti.bg the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna  Fahredin Mollamehmed. He said that one of them is the maritime capital - religious talks with young people take place at the central mosque of Varna “Aziziye” as well as at the mosque in “Sesemez” quarter. Such are also organized at he central mosque in the town of Provadia.

“The religious talks with the youths begin after the tarawih prayer and continue till the time sahoor. The days for these meeting with the youths are according to a schedule of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna and are coordinated with the young people and are in line with the other activities which Regional Mufti’s Office - Varna holds” – further said Fahredin Mollamehmed

The Ramadan religious talks with the youths from Varna region address various topics, relevant to the young people. They include topics such as “Place of youth in Islam”, “How to be righteous Muslims in a non-Muslim country”, “Religious norms and ethnical traditions and customs”, as well as “The Youth during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)” and others.

The format of these meetings consists of three panel sessions in total. During the first of them the speaker and the facilitator make an introduction to the topic and introduce to the youths various historical facts and moments from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Then the meetings continue with an opportunity for discussion and debated on the topic, as well as asking questions. The third panel of the religious talks with the youths is designated to reading verses from the Holy Qur’an and performance of religious songs (ilyahi).

The idea of the initiators takes place with the active participation of the guest-imam of 25 years at the Mufti’s Office in Varna Bilyal Arslan, a representative of the Presidency of the Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey – Diyanet”. He is a speaker at the religious talks while the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna Fahredin Mollamehmed is a facilitator at the meetings.   

The temporary guest-imam in our country Bilyal Arslan is a graduate of the Department on “Ilyahiat” at the State University of Ankara. Currently Arslan iis a Master degree student in “Tafsir” at the same educational institution, and in his country, Turkey, he is working as an expert on “Religious affairs” at the Department on Foreign Relations at the Presidency of the Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
