Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo held an April meeting with imams

A regular monthly meeting with the imams from Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo was held on April 22 (Monday) this year from 11:00 o’clock. It took place at the “Eksi mosque” in Haskovo and was attended by all imams working at the Regional Mufti’s Office of the town of Haskovo. Official guest of the April working meeting was the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

The working meeting was opened with recitation of a part from the Holy Qur’an and then the host and a Regional Mufti of Haskovo Basri Eminefendi welcomed all imams and informed them about the agenda of the meeting.

Priority was given to the discussions about the upcoming holy for the Muslims month of Ramadan and all related to this duties of the imams – the preparation, the organization of Mukabele (joint reading of the Qur’an), performing the Ramadan Tarawih prayer, etc.  The main focus was on the annual campaign to support the Islamic education which is traditionally held exactly during the month of Ramadan, as well as various ways to promote this national initiative of Grand Mufti’s Office.

Within the held meeting the imams discussed also the preparation for the summer and year-round Qur’an courses on the area of Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo.

In his address to all imams the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi highlighted the significant role of the imam as a spiritual leader and noted that his work cannot be done by anyone else. The official guest also expressed his sincere admiration that during the month of Ramadan only in the town of Haskovo there are 12 places in total where Tarawih prayer is performed.

The meeting ended with a dua (supplication) and exchanged best wishes between the imams of the different settlements in the region of Haskovo.
