Grand Mufti was official guest at a meeting of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv in Asenovgrad

On February 18 (Monday), 2019 Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv held a regular meeting with the imams from the region and a host of the event was Muslim Board of Trustees – Asenovgrad. The meeting took place at the mosque in the town of Asenovgrad.

Besides imams there were also representatives of the Muslim boards of trustees in Plovdiv region. Official guest of the meeting from Grand mufti’s Office in Sofia was the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

The meeting was opened with recitation of a part of the Qur’an – i Kerim and the participants were officially welcomed by the organizers and the hosts.

The Regional Mufti of Plovdiv Taner Veli presented a report on the work of the headed by him mufti’s office for the last year, 2018. He informed the participants in the meeting and his colleagues about the planned for the present year, 2019, activities of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv.

The official guest Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi in his turn informed the imams and the members of the Muslim boards of trustees about the final voted at second reading amendments to the law on the Religious Denominations at the end of the last year. He said that Grand Mufti’s Office made serious efforts in order to prevent the marginalization of the Law and it is a fact that its final version is possibly the least onerous one which this law can have, taking into consideration the proposed and voted at first reading amendments.

At the end of the working meeting the participants in it had the opportunity to ask questions of various essence which helped to hold an active questions and answers discussion.
