Presentation of the book “Dzhumaya Mosque and Imaret Mosque in Plovdiv”

Regional Mufti’s Office and Muslim Board of Trustees – Plovdiv with the assistance of Publishing Department at Grand Mufti’s Office presented the book of Prof. Lyubomir Mikov “Dzhumaya Mosque and Imaret Mosque in Plovdiv”. The presentation of the book took place on December 3 (Monday) at the Cultural Center “Trakart” in Plovdiv.

In the event along with the author also participated the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed, the Regional Mufti of Plovdiv Taner Veli, Dr. Vidin Sukarev from the Regional Museum of History in Plovdiv and Ahmet Pehlivan - Chairman of the Mosque’s Board of Trustees in Plovdiv. The program was also attended by representatives of the municipality of Plovdiv, University of Plovdiv, journalists and other scientists and activists from the Old Town.

Here is the place to note that the publishing of the book is part of the preparation of the city for 2019 European Capital of Culture.

In the presented album edition of the book are addressed the three preserved Muslim temples – Dzhumaya mosque, Imaret mosque and Tashkyopryu mosque, which is located near the stone bridge at Maritsa river.
