Traditional sunnet (circumcision) took place in Shumen for 13th consecutive year
For another year Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen organized free of charge traditional sunnet (circumcision ceremony) for everybody who wish to do it. It took place on June 26 in the “Sherif Halil Pasha” mosque (Tombul mosque) in Shumen.
Official guests of the event were Ahmed Hasanov and Birali Birali – Deputy Grand Muftis of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well a sthe Director of RS “Nyuvvab” – Sherif Hyusnyu and others.
The event which has already turned into a tradition was organized for a thirteenth consecutive year.
The opening of the program began with reading of Qur’an-i Kerim by the guest-teacher in the Training course for imams in the city of Shumen and continued with greeting addresses of the Regional Mufti of Shumen Mesut Mehmedov and the Deputy Grand mufti Ahmed Hasanov.
More than 140 children from the region of Shumen were circumcised this year. This happened thanks to the experienced professional in this field Dr. Lyutfvi Mehmed.
