Iftar in Kotel brought together people of different religions
On June 4, 2018, i.e. in the 21st night of the month of Ramadan, Kotel hosted an iftar dinner which brought together people of different religions and was a reason to share the grace of Allah with everyone regardless of the religious and ethnic differences.
The iftar dinner was attended by the SMC Chairman Vedat S. Ahmed, the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali, NCRCB members, the Mufti of Edirne Emrullah Üzüm and other guests from the Republic of Turkey, representatives of the Alevi community from the region, the regional muftis of Aytos – Selyatin Muharrem, of Montana – Nedzhati Ali, the interim Mufti of Targovishte Nazif Rasimov.
The host of the iftar dinner, the Regional Mufti of Sliven Akif Akifov welcomed all guests expressing his gratitude and satisfaction with the opportunity to bring together so many different people at one place, which gives an additional beauty of this blessed month of Ramadan.
The SMC Chairman Vedat S. Ahmed said: “Fasting is a worshipping, which bring people closes, makes the Muslims more responsible and empathetic, without making difference between Muslim and non-Muslims.”
The Mufti of Edirne Emrullah Üzüm expressed his happiness of having the opportunity once again to meet NCRCB members after the meeting in Edirne.
“The tradition of people of different religion being in a dialogue and to trying to overcome the challenges they face makes me happy”, said the Mufti of Edirne Emrullah Üzüm and expressed his willingness to join this good practice – the religions to be together and to help for overcoming the social crisis.
“In this month of the personal growth giving a helping hand to people in need is the most important thing which a Muslim can do”, further said Emrullah Üzüm and remind about the words of Sultan Mehmed II: “Do not ask people of what religion or community they are, but ask them what do they need and help them.”
The dinner ended with a supplication for more cohesive and peaceful society and wishes that this human meetings to be among the deeds with which Allah will be pleased.
