Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo held its regular meeting with imams

Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo held its regular monthly meeting with the imams on April 26, 2018. The meeting took place at “Charshi mosque” and official guest was the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

The host of the meeting, the Regional Mufti of Haskovo Basri Eminefendi, thanked the imams, all of whom were present, for their understanding of the importance of the set topics. The Regional Mufti presented for discussion and analysis topical issues, among which were the preparation for the month of Ramadan – “Month of the Islamic Education”, the upcoming summer Qur’an courses and the campaigns for Hajj and Umrah.

At the beginning of the meeting the Grand Mufti commented on all topics and urged the imams to be even more active in their activities by using every opportunity for the efficient implementation of the upcoming tasks.

With regard to the activities during the month of Ramadan the Regional Mufti of Haskovo committed the imams to make iftar dinners, sohbets (religious talks), mukabbele (Qur’an reading) and other similar activities in each of the mosques.

In terms of the summer Qur’an courses which start as soon as the month of Ramadan is over, the imams and the teachers have to attractstudents by promoting the Qur’an courses among parents and children. And Regional Mufti’s Office - Haskovo will organize various sports and leisure events for the children.

With regard to the Campaign for Support of the Islamic Education, which takes place during the month of Ramadan, became clear that more active promotion work is necessary in order to let the population understand the importance which the education has for the future of the Muslim community.

 

In connection with the last topic on the agenda – related to the campaigns for Hajj and Umrah, the imams have committed to inform the Muslim community for the opportunity to visit the Holy Lands and to perform Umrah during the first half of the month of Ramadan. And the Hajj campaign will continue till May 16, 2018.
