Hatim of 19 girls from the Qur’an course in the village of Gorno Kraishte brought together Muslims in the village at a celebration on that occasion, which took place in April 22, 2018.
In the presence of hundreds of guests the children presented their specially prepared program. It was attended by the Grand Mufti of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Regional Mufti of Pazardzhik Abdullah Salih, the Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed, the Mayor of the Municipality of Belitsa Radoslav Revanski and a number of imams, teachers in Qur’an courses who also brought their students, employees of the reginal mufti’s offices and others.
“We do not learn just to know. We learn in order to apply what we have learned in our life” – said in his address to all participants the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. He greeted the teacher of the children Sabie Medarova for the achievements, and at the same time called upon the parents of the children to make everything possible so that their successors to continue their life on the way of Islam.
In his turn the Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed highlighted that the hatim, that took place, is a form of the traditional Islam for the Muslims – the one for which so many people wonder what exactly it is. – “We are ready to keep it by all means” – he added.
Within the festive celebration of the hatim in Gorno Kraishte children, teachers and parents were greeted by the Mayor of the Municipality of Belitsa Radoslav Revanski, who beside all other wishes which were made, urged the children to adhere also to the secular education, “because it is the way to show to the rest of the world that Muslims deserve to live worthily and to take up the decent places which we deserve in the earthly life”.
Sabit Gudzhov, imam of Gorno Kraishte, recalled the history of the local Qur’an course, which began in January in the distant year 1990, when the children gathered in one house in the village. He told that the number of those young Muslims who want to learn the Word of Allah gradually has been increasing with the time. And this is the fifth festively celebrated hatim for the last nearly 30 years. Such celebrations in Gorno Kraishte were organized also in 1991, 1995, 2003 and 2013.
