DECLARATION

of the National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) on the occasion of the statement of Prosecutor Nedyalka Popova with regard to the Muslim community in Bulgaria

The National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) expresses its indignation with regard to the statement of Prosecutor Nedyalka Popova, and also expresses its disagreement and condemns this kind of speeches as inappropriate and scandalous for the religious community.

The Members of the National Council at its meeting expressed their compassion and support to the Muslim Denomination and the expressed position in the open letter, adopted on the extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Muslim Council.

We call upon the responsible institutions to refer the issue to themselves, to take the relevant measures with regard to the statements inciting religious intolerance in the country.

Bulgaria is a sovereign country, composed of people with different ethnicities and religions, born and living in it. None of the ethnicities and religions can be a threat to the national security of the country.
