With a lecture “Spirituality and social media” MRT – Rudozem closed the season for lectures 2017/2018

         Every Saturday evening in the central mosque in the town of Rudozem were held lectures on religious themes, organized by Muslim Board of Trustees – Rudozem with the support of Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan.

The last for the season for lectures 2017/2018 lecture was on March 24 (Saturday) and a guest lecturer was BIrali Myumyun BIrali – Deputy Grand Mufti of Bulgaria.

To the audience which numbered hundreds of Muslims from Rudozem, the nearby villages and towns, also guests from the country, the Deputy Grand Mufti presented the topic “Spirituality and social media”.

He focused on the importance and the need of addressing exactly this topic and gave a number of ethical guidelines for the behavior of the Muslims in social media and as a whole – in the virtual world.

“The virtual reality is a projection of the reality, but while reality is created by Allah, the virtual is created by man.  Man is created by Allah in order to serve Him, and virtuality is created by man, to serve the man himself. However in practice we see how when the virtual is not used in the right way, instead of being in service to us, we, the people, begin to serve it.” – said during his lecture Birali Myumyun Birali.

He also addressed the topics for the positive and negative aspects in our life in the virtual and focused on the fact that as Muslims often forget that what is haram (forbidden) in the real life is also haram in the virtual world: “Let’s not forget that Allah will ask us not only for our behavior in the real life, but also for everything that we have done in the virtual world” – reminded the lecturer.

The season of lectures 2017/2018 in the mosque of the town of Rudozem was closed with the dua of the guest lecturer Birali Myumyun Birali and with thanksgiving speeches and best wishes of the hosts from the Muslim Board of Trustees – Rudozem both to all lecturers who responded to the invitations to participate, and to the entire Muslim community in the region, who with an interest participated in the weekly events.
