Regional Muslim Council at Regional Mufti’s Office – Targovishte was established

On March 21, 2018 (Wednesday) was held a meeting in Regional Mufti’s Office – Targovishte, the aim of which was to officially establish a Regional Muslim Council (RMC) for the region.

Chairman of RMC – Targovishte will be the Regional Mufti Nazif Rasimov and within the working meeting for each of the municipalities in the Region of Targovishte was elected a person in charge, who will be responsible for and will coordinate the work of all Muslim Boards of Trustees in the relevant municipality.

There are five municipalities in total in the region of Targovishte, and the elected responsible people are Ayhan Abtulov – imam of the village of Ruets, for the Municipality of Targovishte; Erdzhan Hadzhi from the village of Gorna Hubavka, for the Municipality of Omurtag; Mehedin Mustafov – imam of the town of Opaka, for the Municipality of Opaka; Yusein Ahmedov – imam of the village of Kardam, for the Municipality of Popovo; and Basri Sherif – imam of the village of Konop, for the Municipality of Antonovo.

The regional Muslim councils are regional structures at the regional mufti’s offices in the country, the function of which is to work for synchronizing, teamwork and more beneficial work of the Muslim boards of trustees in the municipalities on the territory of a relevant regional mufti’s office. This inevitably reflects positively on its work and hence on the work of the institution of Muslim Denomination as a whole.
