The beginning of the three sacred months was celebrated from the youngest in Samokov

On March 1, 2018 the children from the Qur’an course in the town of Samokov celebrated the beginning of the three sacred months – Rajab, Shaban and Ramadan. While the children enjoyed the prepared for them meals, the local teacher told them about the three sacred months in the Islamic tradition and culture, and the good deeds which they can do during them.

The beginning of the three sacred months was also addressed in the lecture prepared by the vaiz (preacher) at Regional mufti’s Office – Sofia, in which she focused on the importance of these months as a preparation for the Holy month of Ramadan. She highlighted that “…in the month of Rajab we sow the seeds, in Sha`ban we irrigate them and in Ramadan we reap the harvest.”

At the end of the lecture there was reminded that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) used to make the following dua (supplication)in these months:

“Allahumma barik lana fi Rajabin wa Shaban wa ballighna Ramadan”, which translated means:

“O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Shaban and enable us to reach Ramadan!”
