Greeting address on behalf of the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi on the occasion of the beginning of the three sacred months

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful!

Dear brothers and sisters,

I would like to express my infinite gratitude to Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He) for giving us the honor of meeting again the beginning of the three sacred months – Rajab, Shaban and Ramadan.

The month of Rajab is one of the months which Allah made “hurum” (prohibited). A month which according to one narration, is the month of Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He). Let us do everything possible according to our efforts in these months, and before all to prepare well for meeting the most dignified month in the year – the month of Ramadan. Let us make so that in the present month of Rajab and during the next month of Shaban to get used to the worshipping to the Almighty, to get used to the good attitude – first of all to Allah, and then to ourselves and to all people with whom we live together.

Let us do our best in these months to like ourselves, to be satisfied with what we are doing. Because when we are satisfied with what we have done, this means that Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He) will also be pleased with us.

The three sacred months are a period in which we must not miss an opportunity to express our satisfaction with Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He) – for what He has destined for us. When we are satisfied with Allah, this means that He is satisfied with us.

To reach to the satisfaction of Allah (Glorious and Exalted is He) is the ultimate aim of every Muslim.

That is why our preparation in these two months is very important – to be able to meet Ramadan properly is exactly to make efforts to get closer to the maximum extent to the Mercy of Allah.

During these three sacred months Muhammad (pbuh) made dua (supplication) to the Almighty with the words: “Oh, my Lord, grant us baraqah (blessing) during the month of Rajab and during the month of Ramadan, and give us an opportunity to meet the month of Ramadan.”
