The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi held a meeting with the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev

 

At the initiative of Grand Mufti’s Office on March 1, 2018 was held a meeting between the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and the Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. The meeting took place at “Dondukov” 2, and the occasion was related to the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Grand Mufti was accompanied for the meeting by the Secretary General of the Muslim Denomination Dzhelal Faik.

“The state have to provide a greater financial support to the religious communities in Bulgaria, in order to prevent foreign interference” – Radev said within the meeting.  According to him the Muslim Denomination has not just to receive adequate funding from the state, but it has to develop on the basis of its own traditions. “We must not the religion to be politicized but the state has to undertake its commitments for the peaceful and independent activities of the religious denominations in our country”, further said the President.

The Grand Mufti Hadzhi and the host of the held meeting Radev shared the opinion that the peaceful co-existence of the representatives of the different religious communities in our country is a proven through the centuries model and it must be continued and maintained.

 

In his turn, after the meeting, the Leader of the Muslims in Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi shared his outstanding positive impressions for the statesmanlike behavior and the concern of the President Rumen Radev about the Muslim community in Bulgaria.
