Groundbreaking for the new mosque in the new mosque in the village of Draganovo, Veliko Tarnovo

The Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo Syuleyman Masurev attended the opening of the building site for the construction of the new mosque in the village of Draganovo, Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa, and he was accompanied by three of his colleagues - Efraim Muttalib, Syuleyman Murtaza and Erol Hodzha. This took place on Sunday, January 28, 2018.

The beginning of the construction became a kind of a feast for the Muslim residents. Dozens of them attended the groundbreaking ceremony. As a part of it the official guest of the event Syleyman Masurev delivered a lecture related to the importance in Islam of the construction of mosques.

The program for beginning of the construction of the new mosque in Draganovo ended with slaughtering a qurban on behalf of the Mosque’s Board of Trustees in the village of Draganovo.

The village of Draganovo is with a population of about 3000 people. The majority of them profess Orthodoxy, the minority are followers of Islam. In the past there had been a mosque but it was very old and was destroyed, also told from the mufti’s office in Veliko Tarnovo.

“It is important to note that in this initiative – the construction of new mosque, the Muslims from Draganovo rely only on their own efforts, on personal means and donations”, underlined the Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo Syuleyman Masurev.

Masurev also called upon all who would like to help through donations the construction of the Muslim prayer house in the village of Draganovo, Veliko Tarnovo region, to get in contact with Regional mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo for more information.
