Student from Bulgaria presented our country at International Qur’an Memorization Competition in Mecca
Bulgaria was represented at an international competition for memorization of the Qur’an which took place in the “Masjid al-Haram” in the sacred city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Hafiz Ibrahim Kambach is from the village of Breznitsa, Blagoevgrad region, and currently is a student in the Qur’an course for hafizes in the town of Madan.
The competition, in which the Bulgarian boy participated, was held in four categories in total:
· Memorization of the entire Qur’an
· Memorization of the entire Qur’an with tafsir
· Memorization of 15 ajza (parts) of the Qur’an
· Memorization of 5 ajza of the Qur’an
Ibrahim Kambach presented Bulgaria by participating in the category “memorization of 15 ajza”
The final of the competition and the awards ceremony were held also in the mosque “Masjid al-Haram”.
The program of the participants ended with a two-day stay in the city of Medina where the competitors visited “Masjid An-Nabawi” and saw the sights of the first capital of Islam.
The competition for Qur’an memorization which is held in the name of King Abdulazis this year took place for 39th time. Nearly 120 competitors from 79 countries in total took part in it.
