Opinion of Fatwa Committee: What is the hukumah (adjudication) of Islam regarding marriage?
The Islamic hokum regarding marriage can be changed depending on the circumstances in which people are. Muhammad (pbuh) ordered to hurry with regard to marriage. Nowadays marriage should be done as soon as one reaches the age of majority which only can save the youth from the moral decay today. It is not right to wait solving certain financial and social problems that do not have upper limit. Moreover in Qur’an-i Kerim with regard to this issues the Almighty Allah orders: “And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” (An-Nur, 24:32)
One of the main objectives of marriage according to Islam is generation. From this point of view it is important to marry younger because in elderly the possibility of appearance of reproduction problem appears.
