Social Department at Grand Mufti’s Office held the first for this year meetings with orphans

Few days before the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan Social Department at Grand Mufti’s Office held the first meetings with orphans for the present year 2017.

They took place on 24^th of May this year and were held at the same time in the Religious school – Momchilgrad and in the Religious school “Nyuvvab” in Shumen.

The group of orphans that met in Momchilgrad was welcomed by the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun in the Mosque of the seven girls “Yedi Kızlar” in the village of Podkova. The children from the region of Shumen came together in Tombul mosque in Shumen where they were welcomed by the expert in Social Department Bahri Izet who was accompanied by representatives of the charity foundation “Hasene” from Germany.

For the children was provide a festive lunch. Both the groups had the opportunity to make together with the accompanying them hosts tourist visits to some of the most significant sights around the two cities in which the meetings were held – Shumen and Momchilgrad, and the surrounding them settlements.

Before leaving the children were given gifts on behalf of the Muslim Denomination. The orphans received also humanitarian packages as well as 3 kg qurban meat for each of them.

Within their trip besides holding the two meetings with orphans, the employees from Social Department at Grand Mufti’s Office and the representatives of the charity organization “Hasene” visited some regional mufti’s offices and settlements in their scope. The aim of the “charity tour” was to support by humanitarian packages the neediest people. Due to inability to visit all muftis’ offices in the country there were visited some of them – these were the regional muftis’ offices of Ruse, Silistra, Veliko Tarnovo, Kardzhali, Smolyan, Haskovo, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad.

In the framework of the cooperation with the charity foundation “Hasene” from Germany the Social Department has distributed 1160 humanitarian packages in total to all 20 regional muftis’ offices in the country so far.

The humanitarian activity of Social Department will continue to be actively held during the entire month of Ramadan and after that.
