Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv held a regular meeting with the imams

The regular meeting for May with the imams from Plovdiv region was held by Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv on 25^th of May his year.

The host Taner Veli – Regional Mufti of Plovdiv welcomed all participants and informed them about the agenda of the working meeting. It included different topics which the employees of the Muslim Denomination managed to discuss during the meeting.

The imams paid attention to the launched by Grand Mufti’s Office campaign to support the Islamic education in Bulgaria and commented on the participation of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv in it. It is held under the title “Reach out a hand – the Islamic education in Bulgaria needs your help” and will continue one month – till 25^th of June, 2017.

Within the working meeting the imams from Plovdiv region discussed the issue related to the recruitment of students to educate in the religious schools in the country and in the High Islamic Institute in Sofia. They made an analysis of the Qur’an courses that took place during the last year 2016 and discussed the carrying out of this year’s Qur’an courses for children during the coming summer season. There was also discussed the teaching of the subject “Islamic religion” in the state schools.

The most current topic within the meeting was related to the conduct of the month of Ramadan and the organization of iftar dinners, and it was decided to invite for the traditional dinners also members of the Muslim boards of trustees from the neighboring settlements.

The working meeting in Plovdiv ended with a dua (supplication) and best wishes.
