Month of Ramadan in the capital

Days are wearing away, months – also… And now with the permission of the Almighty Allah we are again in the most beneficial month in the year. The month of mercy, forgiveness and gaining the satisfaction of the Almighty Allah. At the beginning of Ramadan we thank the Creator of the Worlds for making us among those who have eagerly awaited this great month. We are trying to do as much as possible good and righteous deeds because the reward is much greater than in the other time.

During the present month of Ramadan with the Will of the Almighty Allah on eight different places on the capital every evening are given iftar dinners, and in five of them is performed tarawih prayer. Every evening hundreds of people – men, women children, poor and rich, Muslims and non-Muslims, different in ethnicity people, diplomats and ordinary citizens sit shoulder to shoulder at the traditional iftar dinner in the Central mosque of Sofia “Banya Bashi” and in the masajid in the districts of “Lyulin”,”Botunets”, “Orlandovtsi” and in the village of Svetovrachene. And also in the districts of “Filipovtsi”, “Fakulteta” and “Hristo Botev”. A picture that cannot be seen except in the month of Ramadan.

Along with the social activities are carried out also educational programs such as Qur’an courses, talks and preaches prior and during the tarawih prayer, mukabele, weekly lectures during the entire month.

With the Will of the Almighty Allah the first lecture for the month of Ramadan was delivered by the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. In his speech Dr. Hadzhi focused on current issues related to fast and the situation of the Muslims in the country and the capital.

Of course for the implementation of all those activities are made extremely great efforts by the imams, the Muslim boards of trustees and many volunteers, for which Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia expresses the most heartfelt and sincere gratitude. May the Almighty accept these efforts and reward them many times both in this world and in the Hereafter.

May the Almighty make us to be among those who are always worshipping only Him, may He accept our good deeds and guide us to doing more like that, may this month be Mercy, Forgiveness and Salvation from the Hellfire for all believers.
