Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad held a meeting with the Muslim Boards of Trustees from the region

The Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed held working meetings with the Muslim Board of Trustees in Blagoevgrad region.

This regional forum was also attended by the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. He welcomed the initiative and emphasized on the important place that the Muslim Board of Trustees has in the life of the Muslims in Bulgaria. The Grand mufti focused on the role of the boards of trustees for the development of the Muslim Denomination and described it as a bridge between the institution and the Muslims in the relevant settlements as well as a guarantee for the prosperity of the Muslims in Bulgaria.

Besides the ongoing issues the Regional Mufti presented a vision for a new interpretation of the norms of the Statute fixing the activities and the role of the Muslim Boards of Trustees. There were discussed issues in the following fields:

-       Role of Muslim Board of Trustees in the work of the Muslim Denomination and in the life of the Muslims

-       Financial stability of the Muslim Board of Trustees

-       Actual condition of the mosques and the waqfs

-       Interconnection and cooperation between board of trustees – imam – mufti

-       Working schedule for year 2017

After comprehensive analysis within the held meeting all participants agreed on the following:

“Everyone on the vertical and on the horizontal of the institution Muslim Denomination to be active in defending our Islamic identity.”
