Ahmed Hasanov is elected for a Deputy Grand Mufti

The Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) at its regular session, held on 27th of July, 2016, elected for a Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, who was a lecturer at the High Islamic Institute till then.

It was reached to the elections since his predecessor Vedat S. Ahmed was elected for a Chairman of the SMC from the National Muslim Conference, held on 24th of January, 2016.

Mr. Hasanov who over the years occupied different positions in the religious and educational field of the Muslim Denomination will be responsible for the activities, which his predecessor led during the past ten years.

At the same session were re-elected for deputy grand muftis Murat Pingov and Birali Birali who will perform their present functions. Furthermore the members of the Supreme Muslim Council appointed Mr. Murat Pingov for a Deputy Grand Mufti who performs the functions of the Grand Mufti in his absence.
