Grand Mufti met with our MEPs in Brussels
The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi met with the Bulgarian MEPs Feliz Hyusmenova, Nedzhmi Ali and Ilhan Kyuchyuk during his visit in the European Parliament in Brussels. The religious leader was on an official three-day visit in the Belgian capital.
“It is important for us Bulgaria to have its voice in Europe. Your responsibility is great because you are entrusted with the representation of our country and you are called to defend the interests of your electorate”, said the Grand Mufti to our MEPs. According to him our country is little known abroad and for this it should be worked unitedly.
During his visit in the European Parliament the religious leader had meetings also with Syed Kamall, leader of the European Conservatives Party, Afzal Khan, a member of the Social Democrats, Ismail Ertug, a member of the Social Democrats, and Sajjad Karim, a member of the European Conservatives Party.
The Grand Mufti presented the activities of the Denomination and the aspect of the life of the Muslims in Bulgaria and commented current topics related to the Islamic religion and the more increasing wish the religion to be blamed for the global terrorism which we are witnessing.
The Members of the European Parliament agreed of the fact that religion is not and cannot be a source of acts violating the universal right of life.
