Grand Mufti received the Vice-Premier of the Kingdom of Cambodia

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi was a host of an official dinner in honor of the Vice-Premier and State Secretary of the Kingdom of Cambodia Oknha Othman Hassan. He is on an official visit in Bulgaria on the occasion of the Fifth annual meeting of labor and employment ministers of member states along the Europe – Asia ASEM-LEMC dialogue (ASEM-LEMC). Host of the forum is the Vice-Premier and a Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ivaylo Kalfin, and the topic – “Towards sustainable social development of Asia and Europe: A joint vision for decent work and social protection”.

The vice premier of Cambodia presented the life of the Muslims in his country. They are about 700 000 and have more than 500 mosques and imams. The imams are working on a voluntary basis and have the right to elect a Chairman on religious affairs who is appointed to that post by the King. The imams are elected by the community and do not have mandates, they perform their duties till the Muslims withdraw their trust from the relevant imam.

More than 60 % of the population of the 14-million southeastern Asian country is employed in the agriculture sector. The country produces rice and the world-famous perfume called Oud. According to the Vice-premier there is no unemployment in his country.

The Grand Mufti also presented the activities of the Denomination and the life of the Muslims where he focused on the act that the Muslims all over the world are brothers and should help each other regardless where they are.
