Grand Mufti met with Bulgarian Muslim community in Belgium


The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi met with the Bulgarian emigrant community professing Islam in Brussels and Antwerp – Kingdom of Belgium. The religious leader was on a three-day visit in the Belgian capital.
The Grand Mufti met in Antwerp the founders of “Association for culture and mutual help of the Bulgarian community in Antwerp – Arda” with a chairman Leman Yashar. The association is established a year ago and deals with cultural and educational activities and has more than 300 permanent members and according to the words of its chairman their number increases with every passing day. Not only ethnic Turks are members of Arda. The organization is opened for all of our fellow – citizens residing in the second largest city in the Kingdom of Belgium. There are organized language courses in Flemish, national and personal holidays are celebrated, and socially useful activities are organized.
 “We are with you because we sincerely want you to preserve your language, cultural and religious identity” said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi during his meeting with our compatriots. According to him Grand Mufti’s Office is ready to provide its services in use of our fellow citizens abroad. Despite of the not too big financial liquidity the institution could provide its publications in Bulgarian language, which to be useful both for the preservation of the language and for increasing the moral and the culture of our compatriots. They showed especially great interest to the possibility which the Denomination proposed for implementation of international funeral services. According to them this is too expensive service abroad.
 “Your Association in the name of the good will make your life here more organized and easier with quality benefits in personal and in social sense”, further said the Grand Mufti.
The religious leader met in Brussels with the representatives of “Cultural society of the Bulgarian emigrants in Brussels”, with a chairman Myumyun Uluch and deputy chairman Mergyul Nazam. The meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives of the community. They welcomed the Grand Mufti with sincere feelings and high emotions. The NGO works for the preservation of the language, the life and the culture of our countryman in the conditions of the global discourse. There are organized lots of cultural evenings with authentic costumes and other events aimed at preserving the authentic cultural identity.
