Grand Mufti met with our Ambassador in the Kingdom of Belgium
The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the Kingdom of Belgium H.E. Veselin Valkanov. The religious leader was on an official three-day visit in the Belgian capital in the beginning of the week.
The Grand Mufti and the Ambassador discussed topics related to the security, the adequacy of the educational process, the need of comprehensive preventive measures and aspects related to the Bulgarian citizens residing on the territory of the Kingdom of Belgium.
“For our fellow-citizens is of a great importance to preserve their language and culture abroad, as well as not to give way to infantile provocative actions on behalf of radical elements”, said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. According to him it should be approached by using the methodology of the active prevention in view of the international situation in which we are.
“Identity is an important marker of civilization which we must preserve as a part of our diversity. That is why we have undertaken activities which should allow more of our fellow-citizens to go to the Bulgarian school”, said Ambassador Valkanov. He said that he has participated many times in events which were also attended by our fellow-citizens and with a pleasure he found that there are representatives of different ethnicity groups who are living together and friendly in the conditions of the hard life of an emigrant.
