Grand Mufti’s Office was presented on International Conference on Halal Certification

The chairman and the member of the Halal Certification Committee at Grand Mufti’s Office Mr. Halil Hodzhov and Mr. Beyhan Mehmed presented the institution at an International conference for Halal Certification under the title “Let’s live together in a halal and tayyib (pleasant) world”, held in Istanbul on 22nd of October, this year.
Representatives of more than 30 countries participated in the international symposium organized by the Organization for Halal Certification and Inspection GIMDES. In its opening took part also the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to GIMDES the consumers of halal products in a world scale are about 2 billion. This is a potential market in which during the recent years is activated the demand of products produced according to the Islamic norms. Especially great is the interest in the cosmetic products with halal certificate, which actively enter in this industry. Leading role in the production of such products have Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia and others.
This type of sector policy is searched and spread and in the tourist services sector. Especially popular are international hotel chains which offer full service in line with the Islamic norms.
Grand Mufti’s Office proposes halal certification for local producer of food products from the entire spectrum where regarding the local products is applied differentiated methodology of certification. The services of the Denomination in terms of this are used by more than 30 companies that produce products for the domestic and the foreign market.
The customers prefer this type of products because of the fact that in order to be certified the natural product in them must be more than 80 %. For example dairy products have to contain more than 80 % natural milk.
