Bulgaria will be represented at the European competition in Qur'an recitation in Zagreb

In the period between 23rd and 25th of October in the Islamic Center of the Croatian capital city Zagreb will be held the European competition in Qur'an i-Kerim recitation. Nearly 80 reciters from 20 European countries will take part in the competition, where they will compete in 4 categories. Bulgaria will be represented in all four categories. According to the rules of the competition the memorizers of the Islamic Holy Book will have to pick up a ticket with the first lines of a verse from the Qur’an and recite by memory the rest of the text.
The jury will assess the accuracy of the text and the melody of the recitation. The tradition of the hafizes of the Qur’an (the so called “guardians of the Qur’an”) is of a great importance because it allows us to preserve our religion unchanged for centuries.
