SMC Chairman: Unity and solidarity of Muslims is an expression of the belief in the Oneness of Allah

The Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat S. Ahmed was a host of an official iftar dinner in honor of the former chairmen of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC), the former grand muftis and the present members of the Council in Grand Mufti’s Office.
For a first time in the history of the Muslim Denomination an iftar is organized in this format – with the participation of the present and the former management and the members of the supreme collective managing body of the Muslim denomination, the regional leaders in the face of the regional muftis, MPs who were working in our system, the former Head of the High Islamic Institute and the representative of our related institution – Diyanet of the Republic of Turkey.
“The iftar, organized by SMC, has two significant aspects: the first is the spiritual, which is expressed in this that for the Muslims who observe the fast there are two very important and joyful moments, namely when they make iftar, i.e. when they break their fast, this is the joy which we now feel. And the other moment is when one receive the reward for the fasting on the Judgment Day, i.e. the Jannah (paradise) – May Allah bestow on us the opportunity to feel this joyful moment”, said the Chairman Vedat Ahmed in his speech.
According to him the other important aspect is the social which is expressed in the unity and the solidarity of Muslims, which in its turn is an expression of the belief in tawhid, the Oneness of Allah.
“In iftar we witness how the tawhid in faith is expressed in our unity this evening. This is an important moment at least for the fact that we are together, we hope that as a result of this the tawhid in faith would contribute for the tawhid, the unity, in our thoughts and as a consequence also in our actions and deeds”, emphasized the Chairman.
He expressed his confidence that together (with the guests) they have put one stone or a brick in the foundation of one good tradition which will help for the reflection of tawhid in our deeds.
